Bhuvneshwar Kumar continued his excellent form from the previous game, dismissing both English openers Jason Roy and Buttler in his first two overs. Jasprit Bumrah, India’s fast-bowling spearhead, joined the party to remove Liam Livingstone, ensuring England loses three of their most dangerous batters on the powerplay.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s fine middle-overs spell compounded England’s woes. Moeen Ali gave England hope with a quick-fire innings in which he took down Jadeja’s left-arm spin, but Hardik came to India’s rescue once more, ending Moeen’s stay at the crease after a 21-ball 35, after which India comfortably completed the win.
With three wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers while Bumrah and Chahal both took two wickets each. Both Harshal Patel and Hardik Pandya took one scalp each
