India vs England 4th Test Day 4 Highlights: On Day 4, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma scored 42 runs in the first eight overs before the latter was sent out by Joe Root. Captain Rohit then led India’s pursuit of 192 as he reached his half-century mark. After sending back Rajat Patidar and Rohit in quick succession, England unexpectedly stormed back into the game. For the remainder of the session, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja held their own, but just after lunch, the latter succumbed to Shoaib Bashir.
Sarfaraz Khan then fell off the very next ball and that brought India’s first innings hero Dhruv Jurel to the middle with Gill. The pair calmed things down for India, managing to not just play out the rest of the first hour of the session but knock off the runs consistently. They ended up putting an unbeaten stand of 72 runs off 136 runs, with Gill grinding out a half-century, as India beat England by five wickets. This helped India take a 3-1 lead in the series, thus confirming a record-extending 17th consecutive Test series win at home.
The fifth and final Test starts from March 7 in Dharamsala.
