After dominating South Africa in the first T20I, Rohit Sharma’s India will look to wrap up the series tonight in Guwahati in the second T20I. Temba Bavuma’s team understands the significance of this game and will come out hard on the Indians after a poor performance with both bat and ball in Thiruvananthapuram a few days ago.
Mohammad Siraj, who replaced the injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remaining two T20Is, could be used by India. With Mohammed Shami still not fully recovered from Covid (there has been no update on his health). If Bumrah is unable to recover in time, and Shami (another standby for the World Cup) is also unable to play, Siraj could fly for the big event.
South Africa has everything covered. They are a fantastic team with no injury concerns. They got off to a bad start on a pitch that wasn’t suitable for T20 cricket, but they’d surely come back with a better performance. These three matches a good warm-up exercises for both these sides, despite the fact that conditions Down Under will be entirely different from here in India.
