Following his outstanding performance in the recently concluded three-match series against Zimbabwe in Harare, young India opener Shubman Gill has risen 93 places to 38th in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for batters.
The team, led by KL Rahul, completed a clean sweep of the ODI series, with Gill finishing as the leading run-scorer with 245 runs, including a century.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam leads the ODI batting charts with 890 points, while India’s Virat Kohli and all-format captain Rohit Sharma are fifth and sixth, respectively.
Meanwhile, South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada’s match-winning exploits against England in the first Test at Lord’s have been rewarded, as he has made giant strides on the latest Men’s Player Rankings.
Rabada was at his brilliant best during the Proteas’ innings victory, adding his name to the Lord’s Honours Board for the first time and taking seven wickets in the match.
His efforts not only helped South Africa maintain their lead at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, but he also jumped two places to third overall in the latest Test bowler rankings.
Fellow pacer Anrich Nortje tormented the England batters with six wickets in the match, propelling him 14 places to 25th overall in the latest bowler rankings.
