Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is the term used to describe blood pressure that is higher than usual. Experts state that a diet low in added sugars and salts and limiting consumption of processed foods, red meats, saturated fats, and alcohol can help those with high blood pressure.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that approximately 45% of adult Americans suffer from excessive blood pressure. An elevated risk of heart disease, stroke, and several other health issues could result from this.
