Lava International, a homegrown electronics manufacturer, launched the Yuva 2 Pro smartphone in the country. The smartphone, which costs Rs 7,999, is available for purchase on the company’s online store and select e-commerce platforms. Lava recently announced a partnership with Edtech platform Doubtnut, and the Yuva 2 Pro is the company’s first smartphone to include a free subscription to Doubtnut’s course material for students in grades 9 through 12. (worth up to Rs 12,000 for one year).

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 system-on-chip with an octa-core processor running at 2.3GHz. The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution screen with a notch for the front camera. It has a side mounted fingerprint sensor and boasts USB type-C port for charging and data transfers. The smartphone starts up with the Android 12 operating system, which will be upgraded to Android 13. Furthermore, the phone would receive security updates for the next two years.
