The administration stated on Wednesday that it is making every effort to assure the availability of LPG, fuel, and diesel, and that consumers should avoid making hasty purchases.

There have been no reports of dryouts at LPG distributorships or petrol pumps. Domestic LPG cylinder delivery is continuing normally, according to the official situation report.

The government has already restored a limited commercial LPG supply of up to 20% to consumers. Furthermore, the administration requested an additional 10% allocation tied to PNG growth reforms.

All refineries are working at full capacity, with appropriate crude inventories, and sufficient gasoline and diesel stocks are maintained.  Domestic LPG production at refineries has been raised to accommodate domestic consumption, according to an official statement from the inter-ministerial briefing.

Citizens are requested to use digital mode for LPG bookings and avoid visiting LPG distributors.

“Supply of LPG continues to be affected due to the prevailing geopolitical situation. Citizens are encouraged to use alternative fuels such as PNG and electric or induction cooktops. Citizens are requested to conserve energy in their daily usage,” said Petroleum Ministry.

Throughout the country, all retail businesses are open as usual. Rumours prompted panic buying in several locations, resulting in exceptionally high sales and significant crowding at retail establishments. However, enough supplies of gasoline and diesel are available at all petrol pumps, it added.

The administration reinforced its caution to the people to rely on official sources of information rather than hearsay.

Enforcement efforts are underway across states and union territories to combat LPG stockpiling and black marketing. More than 2,700 raids were performed yesterday, with around 2,000 cylinders confiscated in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh, according to the government.

PSU oil marketing corporations (OMCs) conducted over 1,700 surprise inspections of retail outlets and LPG distributorships around the country. More than 650 FIRs have been filed, and 155 persons have been arrested thus far.

Priority allocation remains with 100% supply to household PNG for cooking and CNG for vehicle fuel, while supply to industrial and commercial grid-connected users is kept at roughly 80% of normal demand.

City Gas Distribution (CGD) has been advised to prioritise PNG connections for commercial enterprises such as restaurants, hotels, and canteens.

CGD businesses such as IGL, MGL, GAIL Gas, and BPCL are providing incentives for home and commercial PNG connections.

In addition to the regular allocation, all states and UTs have received an additional 48,000 KL of kerosene. States and UTs have been asked to select district-level distribution points, according to the statement.
