During the 93rd episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the renaming of Chandigarh Airport after freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

He stated that an important day of ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ will be celebrated on September 28th, the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh. “As a tribute, just before his birth anniversary, an important decision was made: the Chandigarh airport will now be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh,” PM Modi said.
He also discussed how climate change poses a significant threat to marine ecosystems and how litter on our beaches is upsetting. It is our responsibility to address these issues, he added.

When asked about the return of the cheetahs to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that 130 crore Indians were overjoyed and filled with pride after the animals arrived on September 17 from Namibia.

“People from many corners of the country expressed happiness over the return of the cheetahs. 130 crore Indians were elated and filled with pride. A task force will monitor the cheetahs, on the basis of which we’ll decide when you can visit them,” PM Modi said.

Cheetahs returned to India on September 17, this year, 70 years after they were declared extinct in the country. Eight African cheetahs from Namibia were flown 8,000 kilometers across the Indian Ocean to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, where they were released as part of India’s Rs 90-crore Cheetah Introduction project.

During his speech, Modi also paid tribute to BJP ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, calling him a “profound thinker” and “great son of the country.”

BJP national president JP Nadda, who was listening to PM Modi’s programme in Kottayam, Kerala along with party workers, said, “We witnessed the 93rd episode of PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ today. We should realize that in every episode of the program that the PM started on Oct 3rd, 2014… he never referred to politics, not even once.”
