Nayab Singh Saini, was sworn in as Haryana’s Chief Minister for the second time on Thursday in Panchkula, after the BJP formed the state’s government with its best-ever seat total in the 2017 Assembly elections. Saini made his claim to form the government just hours after being unanimously chosen as the BJP state assembly party leader on Wednesday.
Saini took his oath of office from Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. The BJP chose Thursday for the swearing-in ceremony since it coincided with Valmiki Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the Ramayana’s author. On Thursday, up to 14 cabinet ministers took their oaths, including the chief minister.
