In order to develop the State Curriculum Frameworks (SCFs) within the parameters of the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP-2020), and in accordance with the National Curriculum Frameworks with local contextualization, the Odisha government established a 17-member State Steering Committee, which is chaired by Prof. Nityananda Pradhan, a retired principal at RIE, Bhopal.
Other members of the State Steering Committee are Prof Hrushikesh Senapati, RIE and ex-Director, NCERT; Dr Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, retired associate professor; Prof Udaynath Dash, retired professor of Psychology, Utkal University; Dr Kishore Chandra Mohanty, retired educationist; Prof Sudarshan Mishra, Revenshaw University; Prof Ranjana Arora, NIE, NCERT; Prof Suniti Sanwal, NIE,NCERT; Dr Shruti Mohapatra, CEO, Swabhiman; Prof PC Agarwal, principal, RIE, Bhubaneswar; Dr Binay Pattnayak, Chief Consultant, NSTC Programme, NCERT; Dr Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Language and Learning Foundation; Prof Gayatri Mohanty, principal, NDW CTE, Bhubaneswar; Saroj Kumar Patnaik, New Life Education Trust; Monal Jayram, Senior Core Team Member, Piramal Foundation; and Gayatri Bahinipati, CDPO, Boriguma.
The Additional Secretary to the Government of Odisha, S&ME Department, has been designated as a member convenor of the committee, according to a notification released on Thursday.
Beginning with the upcoming academic year, the state government will put the National Education Policy 2020 into practice at the school level. In order to guarantee a solid basis for primary school education, the government would also establish a Godavarish Adarsh Primary School in each panchayat.
