All government, government-aided, and private schools in Odisha will be closed from April 27 due to the state’s extreme heatwave.
The decision was made when the School and Mass Education Department submitted a proposal, which was immediately approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
According to the government’s decision, while classes will be suspended, pre-scheduled tests, census-related activities, and other vital office functions will go as planned.
The Odisha government is taking a proactive measure to protect schoolchildren from the state’s current high heat conditions.
