As much as 95% of complaints received through the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell have been handled, according to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who presided over the 16th session of the public grievance hearing programme at the CM’s Grievance Cell at Unit-II, Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Official statistics given at the hearing revealed that 12,748 of the 13,358 complaints filed over the last 15 sessions had already been resolved, while the other cases are still being processed. The Chief Minister highlighted the resolution rate as evidence of the government’s dedication to responsive and people-centered governance.
The Chief Minister arrived at the grievance cell about 10 a.m. and, as is customary, first spoke with 30 differently abled people and chronically sick patients who had been waiting outside all morning. After personally hearing their complaints and collecting their petitions, he instructed officials to take urgent and required action. He then proceeded to hear registered complainants’ claims inside the cell.
The Chief Minister authorized medical assistance payments for three patients with difficult conditions via the single-window system: Papun Maharana of Keonjhar district, Priyabrata Pradhan of Khordha district, and Deeptimayee Dash of Cuttack district.
Officials emphasized the importance of the grievance hearing procedure, stating that complaints are being presented both singly and in groups, with each petition frequently accompanied by two to ten persons. From this perspective, nearly 56,000 people have visited the grievance cell in person to voice their concerns to the administration.
In addition to grievance cell hearings, the government has made tremendous progress on other platforms. According to official numbers, 1,30,845 of the 1,49,418 complaints submitted through the Janasunani web, post, and other channels were handled, accounting for almost 88 percent.

Following the session, Chief Minister Majhi briefed the media, stating that the government places the highest premium on grievance redressal and speedy action. He stated that the grievance hearing cell has helped resolve long-standing concerns for people from various sections of the state, allowing ordinary residents to receive justice straight from the administration. “Public trust and participation in the grievance hearing programme have increased because people are seeing results,” he said, adding that the programme would be repeated at regular intervals in the coming days.
Along with the Chief Minister, seven senior ministers were present, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Higher Education, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and Industries and Skill Development Minister Sampad.
