The State government appointed 376 persons today during a Nijukti Mela at Lok Seva Bhavan, including 85 homeopathic physicians, 239 radiographers from the health department, and 52 lecturers from the higher education department.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who attended the event, thanked the newly appointed physicians, lecturers, and radiographers and encouraged them to work with professionalism and service spirit. He told them not to squander money on government positions, but to stay focused on their responsibilities and not give in to corruption. He claimed that Odisha’s health and education sectors lack transparency.

“We have not been able to achieve our real potential. Odisha has come down to the third place among 28 states in the recently published health ranking by the NITI Aayog. Odisha has got only 40.19 out of 100. But earlier, it was widely advertised in the name of global health services. Now this situation has to be changed,” the Chief Minister said. “We have to be among the top ten best service providers in the country,” Majhi said.

The Chief Minister asked the newly appointed officials to make a decision to work with the administration in this regard. According to the Chief Minister, good health services require both infrastructure and educated human resources. The state administration is working systematically to address both of these issues. He stated that medical colleges and hospitals would be created in all regions of the state within the following five years.

Along with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the state government’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will help people get access to decent health care. The CM noted that six recruitment drives have taken place in the last six months, and the process of recruiting more than 20,000 educated youth is underway.

In the health sector, the Chief Minister said that, in addition to recruiting homoeopathic doctors and radiographers, ‘Pharmacy Officers’ will soon be employed in government institutions. Along with this, the Chief Minister announced that 422 homoeopathic and Ayurvedic hospitals in Odisha have been designated as ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’ by the National AYUSH Mission.

He stated that three additional 50-bed integrated AYUSH facilities are being established in Dhenkanal, Berhampur, and Balasore.

The Higher Education Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, stated that the Chief Minister has directed that the recruiting process be expedited. Nijukti Melas (recruitment drives) are now held virtually every month.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg stated that women employees must step outside of their comfort zone and demonstrate their abilities. They should not feel inferior to males in any situation. She highlighted the need of personal growth as well as professional development.

During the event, newly hired doctors and lecturers discussed their recruitment experiences, stating that the Chief Minister had hastened the process while simultaneously increasing its transparency. They stated that they will labor with sincerity and a sense of service.
