Today, 22 places in Odisha experienced temperatures more than 42 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, mercury levels above 40 degrees Celsius in 33 towns.

Jharsuguda was the hottest city, with 43.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Baripada (43.6), and Nuapada (43.5).

Talcher and Boudh became the fourth and fifth hottest places, with 43.4 and 43.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Kendrapara, Cuttack, and Bolangir had temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius each.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Ganjam, Khordha, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada, according to IMD.

The weather the office has issued a heat wave warning for the next two days.

On April 26, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are expected in the districts of Gajapati Ganjam, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Bolangir, Nuapada, and Kalahandi.

The following day, similar circumstances will prevail in Gajapati Ganjam, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Khurdha, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Keonjhar Nuapada, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, and Boudh.

The Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar anticipated that maximum daytime temperatures in various parts of Odisha would rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next three to four days.
