Odisha Weather: Low Pressure Area Likely By Today Evening, To Intensify Into Depression On Sept 21

A new low pressure system is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Over the next days, this system is expected to deepen into a depression.

The North Andaman Sea and its surrounding regions are currently experiencing an upper air cyclonic circulation, according to IMD. By this evening, a low pressure area is expected to develop over the same area due to its impact. The system is probably going to gradually consolidate while moving west-northwest. Over the east-central Bay of Bengal, it is expected to deepen into a depression by September 22 after intensifying into a depression by September 21. By September 23, the system is probably going to keep traveling west-northwest in the direction of South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh.

According to IMD, which is keeping a close eye on the system, rainfall activity is expected to rise across Odisha starting on September 22.
