After a three-year break, international cricket will return to Odisha, with the opening T20 International of the India-South Africa series slated for December 9, 2025, at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
The fixture, approved by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, represents a substantial change to the revised home season schedule.
The day-night match, which begins at 7 p.m., will be the first in a five-game T20I series, with games in New Chandigarh (December 11), Dharamsala (December 14), Lucknow (December 17), and Ahmedabad (December 19).
The four other T20I match between India and South Africa will be played as mentioned bellow:
- 2nd T20I at New Chandigarh on December 11 (Tuesday),
- 3rd T20I at Dharamsala on December 14 (Sunday),
- 4th T20I at Lucknow on December 17 (Wednesday),
- 5th T20I at Ahmedabad on December 19 (Friday)
The BCCI’s amended schedule also includes venue modifications for several men’s and women’s cricket matches.
Notably, the women’s ODI series against Australia has been moved from Chennai to New Chandigarh and Delhi due to renovations at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Additionally, South Africa A one-dayer will now be played in Rajkot, while various Tests between South Africa and the West Indies have also had venue changes.
