Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided a morale boost to the Indian cricket team by visiting the dressing room after their defeat to Australia in the Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad. Despite coming into the final with a streak of ten consecutive wins, India fell short as Australia chased down the target of 241 with 6 wickets in hand and 7 overs to spare.
In a touching gesture, PM Modi shared words of encouragement with the players, including a tearful Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The defeat marked the end of India’s remarkable winning streak and a strong performance by the Australian team.
Ravindra Jadeja, who shared a photo of Modi meeting the team, expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s motivating visit. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah acknowledged the team’s excellent performance throughout the tournament, highlighting their hard work and discipline.
Despite the loss, celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and former India captain Kapil Dev, as well as fans, have shown support and pride for Team India. Looking ahead, the team now shifts focus to the T20 World Cup 2023, with a five-match series against Australia beginning on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
