Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday to evaluate preparations for a huge event set for June 20 in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, to celebrate the end of the BJP’s two-year rule in the state.
Officials informed the meeting that both the President of India and the Prime Minister had agreed to attend the event, making it one of the most important government functions held in the state this year.
The Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements at Lok Seva Bhawan and asked officials to ensure complete security measures, suitable facilities for the public attending the programme, and proper parking arrangements.
Majhi emphasized the importance of the event, saying extra attention should be paid to its seamless and successful execution, given the attendance of the President and Prime Minister.
The conference was also informed that the two dignitaries would inaugurate numerous key projects pertaining to Odisha’s development and lay foundation stones during the programme.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner D.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswata Mishra, among other senior officials.
