The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) issued a full schedule of ceremonies on Wednesday for the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra, which will take place in Puri on Thursday.
According to the timetable, the day’s rituals will begin with Mangal Alati at 6:00 a.m., followed by Mailam and Tadap Lagi from 6:10 to 6:30 a.m. Rosha Homa begins at 6:30 a.m., followed by Abakasha at 7:00 a.m. Surya Puja will take place at 7:10 a.m., followed by Dwarapala Puja and Besha Sesha at 7:30.
Gopal Ballav and Sakala Dhupa (Khechudi Bhoga) will be served between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., followed by Ratha Pratishtha at 9:00.
The ceremonial Pahandi procession, which carries the sibling deities from the sanctum sanctorum to their individual chariots, will start at 9:30 a.m. and go until 12:30 p.m. Madanmohan Bije is planned from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.
The Chitalagi ceremony will take place between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m., while Besha Sesha will last from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The traditional Chhera Pahanra rite, in which the Gajapati Maharaja ceremonially sweeps the chariots with a golden broom, is slated for 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Chara Phita and Ghoda Sarathi Lagi will perform between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. The pulling of the three chariots from the Shree Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple is set to begin at 4:00 pm.
Lakhs of devotees are expected to gather in the pilgrim town to witness the world-renowned celebration. The state government, SJTA, and district administration have undertaken significant security, traffic regulation, crowd management, and civic arrangements to guarantee that the annual yatra runs smoothly and peacefully.
