Stock market close highlights on Thursday, December 11, 2025: Indian shares recovered on Thursday, snapping a three-day losing run, after the US Federal Reserve reduced its main interest rate by 25 basis points.
As of 3:30 PM, the BSE Sensex had gained 426.86 points, or 0.51 percent, to 84,818.13, while the NSE Nifty was at 25,898.55, up 140.55 points, or 0.55 percent.
Tata Steel, Eternal, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement, Maruti Suzuki, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, and TMPV were among the top gainers on the Sensex today, increasing by much to 2.5 percent. Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, Power Grid, ICICI Bank, and Titan were among the worst-performing stocks.
In addition to the frontline stocks, other indices rose. The Nifty Midcap 100 index concluded 0.97 percent higher, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 index ended 0.81 percent higher.
The Nifty Media index fell 0.9%, followed by the Nifty Oil and Gas index, which fell 0.03 percent.
On the upside, the Nifty Metal and Auto indices rose 1.06 percent and 1.11 percent, respectively. Nifty Pharma and Nifty Consumer Durables also climbed over 1% each.
