The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for many districts in Odisha, predicting dense fog and cold wave conditions for the next two days.
According to the IMD forecast, intense fog is expected to occur in one or two locations over the Sundargarh and Koraput districts on December 12-13.
Cold wave conditions are predicted to prevail in isolated pockets in Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts on December 12 and 13, respectively.
“Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Koraput. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Kandhamal,” read the IMD prediction for December 12.
Residents of these districts are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe during this period. Motorists are advised to drive slowly and carefully, especially during foggy conditions, and follow traffic rules.
