Stock Market Highlights on Thursday, February 26, 2026: The Indian benchmark indices concluded the tumultuous session on a mixed note, with healthcare and public sector bank equities outperforming.
The Nifty 50 closed 0.06 percent, or 14.05 points, higher at 25,496.55, while the Sensex ended 0.03 percent, or 27.46 points down, at 82,248.61.
At Thursday’s close, broader markets displayed a mixed trend. The Nifty MidCap index ended 0.66 percent higher, while the Nifty SmallCap index closed 0.01 percent lower.
Sectorally, the Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Pharma outperformed. The indices closed 1.24% and 1.08% higher, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG indices underperformed, closing 0.68 and 0.16 percent lower, respectively.
