Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, March 24, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex closed near their day’s highs, with auto and bank sectors providing support. The risk sentiment improved as traders saw potential for a de-escalation in the US-Iran war despite conflicting pronouncements from both countries.
The Nifty50 closed 399.75 points, or 1.78 percent, higher at 22,912.40, while the Sensex closed 1.89 percent, or 1,372.06 points higher, at 74,068.45.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap closed 2.60 percent and 2.63 percent higher, respectively.
The Nifty Media outpaced its peers, gaining more than 3%. The Nifty Auto and Nifty Bank also underperformed.
Meanwhile, Nifty Pharma gained the least compared to its peers.
