Stock Market Close Highlights, November 21, 2025: Indian shares closed down on Friday, with market breadth favoring the bears on negative global cues.
At the closing, the BSE Sensex down 400.76 points, or 0.47%, to 85,231.92, while the NSE Nifty50 fell 124 points, or 0.47%, to 26,068.15.
On the BSE, the top gainers were Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors PV, M&M, and Asian Paints, while the top losers were Tata Steel, HCLTech, Bajaj twins, and Eternal.
Sectorally, Nifty Metal was the poorest performer, falling 2.34 percent, followed by Nifty PSU Bank (down 1.43 percent) and Nifty Realty (down 1.86 percent). In contrast, Nifty FMCG was the sole index to finish in the green, rising 0.14 percent.
In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices fell 1.13 percent and 1.22 percent, respectively.
