Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices ended Tuesday’s trading session in the positive territory. The NSE Nifty 50 slid 31.20 points, or 0.12%, to 24,981.95, while the BSE Sensex dropped 167.71 points, or 0.21%, to 81,467.10. The broader indices ended in mixed territory, with large-cap stocks leading the slide. The Bank Nifty index closed 14 points down, or 0.03%, at 51,007. Realty and pharmaceutical companies outperformed the other sectors indices, while FMCG and energy stocks fell.

As of 3 pm on October 9, 2024, stocks advanced on the BSE with 2,752 gainers, 1,177 decliners, and 94 remaining unchanged, out of a total of 4,023 stocks traded. A notable 179 stocks hit 52-week highs, while 29 reached 52-week lows. Additionally, 411 stocks traded in the upper circuit and 171 in the lower circuit.
Major stocks reaching 52-week highs on the NSE include ADF Foods with a gain of 14.06%, Thangamayil up by 11.78%, Divi’s Laboratories rising 8.58%, Symphony increasing 6.65%, and Torrent Power advancing 5.55%, reflecting strong market performance across various sectors.
The Nifty 50 was up 0.40% at 25,113 while the Sensex was up 0.33% at 81,906.
The NSE Nifty 50 opens up by 52.65 points or 0.21% at 25,065.80, while the BSE Sensex jumps 319.77 points or 0.39% to 81,954.58 in the opening trade.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded up by 0.02% at 102.49.
