Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Stock Prices Highlights: The major domestic indices finished Thursday’s trading in the red. The NSE Nifty 50 down 17.35 points (0.09%) to 19,794, while the BSE Sensex fell 64.66 points to 66,408.39. Smallcap and midcap equities outperformed the broader indices, while the Nifty 100 and Nifty 200 fell somewhat. The Bank Nifty index rose 82.30 points, or 0.18%, to 44,599.20. Among sector indexes, Media led the way with a 3.02% rise, followed by Auto and Metal. Meanwhile, IT and real estate stocks finished in the red. The India VIX (Volatility Index) fell 3.34%.
Asian Hotels (North), Shalimar Paints, Plastiblends India, MMTC, Aaa Technologies, Aster DM Healthcare and Dredging Corporation are among the volume gainers on the NSE.
The Nifty IT index fell 1.13% during the intra-day trade on Thursday. HCL Tech and TCS lost 2.02% and 1.65% respectively.
WTI crude prices are trading at $83.05, down 0.54%, while Brent crude prices are trading at $85.45, down 0.43%, on Thursday morning.
Wall Street’s major indexes ended higher on Wednesday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 96.83 points, or 0.71%, to 13,659.68. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 65.57 points, or 0.19%, to 33,804.87, while the S&P 500 rose 18.71 points, or 0.43%, to 4,376.95.
