Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: The Indian benchmark indices finished today’s volatile trading session on a negative note, as the geopolitical situation in Europe worsened. Rising bond yields in the debt market have also dampened investor sentiment.
The BSE Sensex fell 185 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 55,381, while the NSE Nifty50 index closed at 16,523, down 62 points, or 0.37 percent. Both indices had intraday lows of 55,091 and 16,439, respectively.
The BSE MidCap index fell 0.1 percent, while the BSE SmallCap index increased by 0.62 percent. Sectorally, the Nifty IT index fell more than 1%, while the PSU Bank index rose 0.9 %.
