Share Market Highlights: Sensex ends 188 pts lower, Nifty ends around 16,800

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices HIGHLIGHTS: On the day of the monthly F&O (derivatives) expiry, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 ended in the red for the seventh consecutive session. The BSE Sensex fell 188 points, or 0.3%, to 56,410, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 40.50 points, or 0.24 percent, to 16818. Index heavyweights like ITC, Dr Reddy’s, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Nestle India, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, and UltraTech Cement, among others, helped to limit the losses. On the other hand, Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, Titan Company, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and TCS were among the top index draggers. Bank Nifty closed 0.3% lower at 37,648.
