Share Market Highlights: Sensex ends 443 pts higher, Nifty ends above 15,500

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Following a period of fluctuation between gains and losses, Indian benchmark indices closed in the green on Thursday, despite mixed global cues.

The BSE Sensex index hit a high of 52,517 and a low of 51,633 on the day of weekly F&O expiry before closing 443 points, or 0.86 percent higher, at 52,266. The Nifty 50 fluctuated between 15,368 and 15,628 before settling at 15,557, up 143 points or 0.9 %.

The Nifty Auto index was the only notable gainer in the sector. Except for the Nifty PSB index, which closed 0.25 percent lower, the other indices added up to 2%. In broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices have outperformed the frontline indices by up to 1.4 %.
