Share Market Highlights: Sensex falls 509 pts, Nifty ends below 16,900

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity market benchmarks the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 finished 1% lower on Wednesday, one day before weekly and monthly F&O expiry. The BSE Sensex fell 509 points, or nearly 1%, to 56,598, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 0.9%, or 149 points, to 16589. Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s, Power Grid Corporation of India, Nestle India, Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), M&M, and HCL Tech stocks, among others, helped to limit the index’s losses. On the other hand, top index drags included ITC, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, and others. The Bank Nifty index fell 1.6% to end at 37760.
