Share Market Highlights: Sensex falls 954 pts, Nifty ends at 17016

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic stock market indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 fell more than 1.5% on Monday, as concerns about global growth weighed on investor sentiment. The BSE Sensex fell 954 points, or 1.6%, to settle at 57145, while the NSE Nifty 50 index fell 311 points, or 1.8%, to 17016. HCL Tech, Infosys, Asian Paints, TCS, UltraTech Cement, and Wipro, among others, finished in the green. On the other hand, top BSE Sensex laggards included Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, ITC, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, M&M, and Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), among others. Sectorally, the Bank Nifty index fell 2.35 percent, or 930 points, to 39,027.  India VIX, the volatility index, jumped 6.3 per cent to finish at 21.89 levels.
