Share Market Highlights: Sensex up 237 Pts, Nifty ends above 15,300

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: After alternating between losses and gains, Indian benchmark indices ended the highly volatile session on a positive note. The BSE Sensex closed 237.42 points, or 0.46 percent higher, at 51,597.84, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 56.70 points, or 0.37 percent higher, at 15,350.20.

Sectorally, the FMCG index increased by 1%, while the IT index increased by 0.5%, while the oil and gas, metal, capital goods, power, and real estate indexes decreased by 1-4%.

The BSE midcap index fell 1.4%, while the smallcap index fell 3%. HUL, HDFC, Apollo Hospitals, Asian Paints, and UltraTech Cement were among the top Nifty gainers, while ONGC, Tata Steel, UPL, Hindalco Industries, and Coal India were among the top losers.
