Share Market Highlights: Sensex up 274 pts, Nifty closes around 18,250

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: The Indian benchmark indices finished in the green, with the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty each gaining about 0.4%, snapping a three-day losing streak. The Sensex closed at 61,418 points higher, up more than 270 points. The Nifty ended the day at 18244, up 84 points. The India VIX volatility index closed at 13.84, down 6.45%. Except for Nifty Realty, all of Nifty’s sectoral indices finished in the green. The Nifty PSU Bank gained the most ground, rising 1.66%. “The domestic market experienced a relief rally in response to a bullish trend in global markets after three days of risk aversion.” The tight COVID lockdown in China, on the other hand, has had a negative impact on the global growth forecast,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services.
