Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices closed the trading session on a positive note on August 22. The BSE Sensex increased 112.10 points, or 0.14%, to end the day at 81,017.40. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 40 points, or 0.16% higher, at 24,810.20. The Bank Nifty ended the day 0.53% higher, or 270.20 points, at 50,955.75. The Nifty Midcap 100 finished 395.90 points, or 0.68% higher, at 58,839.95.

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 0.16% higher at 24,810.20, while the BSE Sensex closed 0.14% higher at 81,017.40.
Grasim Industries, Tata Consumer Products, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, and ICICI Bank were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. Meanwhile, Wipro, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Tata Motors, NTPC, and M&M were the major losers in the Nifty 50 on August 22.

The NSE Nifty 50 was up 0.27% at 24,837 while the BSE Sensex was up 223 points or 0.28% at 81,128.
The NSE Nifty 50 opened 0.26% higher at 24,833.65, while the BSE Sensex opened 0.21% higher at 81,078.68.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading up 0.09% at 101.21 on Thursday morning.
US markets closed on a higher note on Wednesday as the Fed’s July FOMC minutes of the meeting revealed a dovish stance on rate cuts. The broader market index, the S&P 500, closed 0.42% higher at 5,620.85. Similarly, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.57% to settle at 17,918.99. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 55.52 points, or 0.14%, to end at 40,890.49.
