The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the final prize money distribution for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, confirming that winners India will get USD 2.63 million from the tournament’s USD 11.25 million prize pool.
India won the title by defeating New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, finishing off a successful campaign that included a record financial prize. The prize sum includes a significant increase in ICC event prize money announced for 2024.
According to the ICC, the champions will receive USD 2,639,423, which is much more than the payment provided in the previous edition of the competition in 2024. Runners-up New Zealand will take home USD 1,422,692 for finishing second, while losing semi-finalists South Africa and England will earn USD 1,005,577 and USD 974,423, respectively.
Four teams, the West Indies, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka, which advanced to the Super 8s but were eliminated received USD 538,269 million, USD 522,692 million, USD 491,538 million, and USD 475,962 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, teams that reached the Super 8 stage but did not advance, such as Afghanistan, Australia, and the United States, received USD 309,808 million.
Scotland and Ireland received USD 278,654 million and USD 271,731 mn, respectively. Meanwhile, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and Nepal each received USD 256.154 million.
Canada, Namibia, and Oman will each earn a USD 225,000 million base participation payout after exiting the tournament earlier.
The ICC stated that all listed values represent the total prize money collected by teams throughout the group stage, Super 8, semi-finals, and final. The sums comprise basic participation compensation, match-winning incentives, and rewards for progressing through the tournament rounds.
However, the regulatory body stated that the amounts are derived “before any applicable tax compliance or deductions.”
The record prize pool, it stated, “reflects the base participation payment that each team receives (USD 225,000), final team placements, win bonuses and progression through each stage of the tournament.”
