Mandeep Kaur and Nithya Sre won gold medals as India’s para-badminton contingent finished the 4 Nations Para-Badminton International 2022 with 11 medals on Sunday.
The Indian team will return home with two gold medals, four silver medals, and five bronze medals.
Kaur, who had a great season with gold and three silver medals prior to the Ireland event, defeated a tenacious Oksana Kozyna of Ukraine in her final women’s singles SL3 game 21-18, 21-18 to win the gold.
Kaur and Chirag Baretha also won silver in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 event, losing in the final to French top seed Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel 14-21, 18-21.
Meanwhile, Sre overcame a second-game scare from England’s Rachel Choong to win the women’s singles SH6 gold medal 21-14, 18-21, 21-7 in 32 minutes.
However, in the men’s singles SL3 final, Pramod Bhagat had to settle for silver after losing to his archrival Daniel Bethell of England 17-9, 9-21.
