Sambalpur: VIMSAR Burla doctors will collaborate with scientists of Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar, to take up a research on vaccine-induced COVID-19 virus antibodies as a part of the first indigenous research project.
On a Proposal by a team of VIMSAR doctors a week in the past, the project obtained the green signal from the Odisha government’s Health Research Committee on Thursday.
The research can be a follow-up study among the many healthcare providers in VIMSAR over 12 months. The study can be carried out on VIMSAR healthcare providers who’ve already been vaccinated. The research can be carried out over 400-500 healthcare providers as a part of analysis.
Principal investigator, tutor of department of community medicine Dr Sanjeeb Mishra and co-investigators associate professors, community medicine Dr Subrat Pradhan and Kulwant Lakra, professor, anaesthesiology Bimal Panda and assistant professor, Microbiology Dr Sumanta Sahu will team up to conduct the research.
In response to Mishra, the study is geared toward observing seroconversion on the population that has been vaccinated. Seroconversion is the time period throughout which a specific antibody develops and becomes detectable in the blood, the report stated.
