Schools & Colleges set to reopen today in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab

Schools & Colleges are all set to reopen from today, July 26, 2021 in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab.

Karnataka is all set to reopen its UG and PG colleges and hostels from today. However, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab would reopen their schools. Students and parents are advised to go through this report for more details on COVID 19 guidelines and SOPs to be followed.

Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab State Governments had earlier decided to reopen schools in a phased manner as COVID 19 cases have subsided. For the time being, the schools would reopen in the states only for Class 9, Class 10 and Class 11 students.

In fact not only these states however most of the different states also have determined to reopen their schools only for senior classes in the first phase. The decision on primary classes has not been taken yet by any of the states.

List of states reopening schools and colleges today:

  1. Karnataka: Karnataka undergraduate and post graduate colleges along with hostel would reopen from today, on July 26, 2021. The colleges have reported that as many as 75 per cent of their students are vaccinated. Students and staffs have been requested to follow COVID 19 guidelines and maintain social distancing while in campus.
  2. Odisha: Odisha set to reopen its schools from today only for senior classes. The state would reopen schools today for Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 students in the first phase. School and Mass Education Secretary, Satyabrata Sahu had earlier mentioned that the decision is applicable for both government and private schools. The timing of the schools will be from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
  3. Madhya Pradesh: MP would reopen its schools today for Class 11 and 12 students in offline mode with 50% capacity. Students must note that online courses will also continue to keep the teaching-learning process in momentum.
  4. Gujarat: Gujarat is all set to reopen its schools for Class 9, Class 10 and Class 11 students from today with 50% capacity. The official order said that attendance wouldn’t be considered mandatory for the students. Therefore, only those students keen to attend physical classes can come to schools.
  5. Punjab: Punjab State Government has given permission to the schools to reopen from today only for Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 students. However, only vaccinated teachers and staff can be allowed to visit campuses and conduct offline classes.

The above states have also issued COVID 19 guidelines to be followed by the schools while conducting offline classes. Parent’s consent is also a compulsory document to be presented to attend offline classes in these states. Students must following protocols such as wearing masks, sanitizing hands at regular intervals and sustaining social distancing while attending Schools & Colleges from today.
