The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has launched an online registration procedure for the upcoming October-November 2026 Vocational Education Courses examination on its official website. The exam will only be administered to pupils who did not pass the April-May 2026 exams. According to a recent statement, the registration facility has been created exclusively for students who did not pass the April-May 2026 examination or who passed but want to enhance their grades.
The usual registration window, free of late fees, will be open from August 20 until September 3, 2026. Students can apply for the examination using the board’s official websites, nios.ac.in and voc.nios.ac.in. To apply for the exam within the initial registration window, candidates will be required to pay an examination fee of Rs 400 per subject or module. The fee is inclusive of theory, practical, and internal assessment, wherever applicable.
NIOS has also given an extension in case students miss the customary deadline. Students can register for the tests between September 4 and September 8, paying a late fee of Rs 150 per subject in addition to the examination price. Students will have one more registration chance from September 9 to September 13, during which they will be able to pay a cumulative late cost of Rs. 1,600 per learner in addition to the usual examination fee.
The board has clarified that registration and payment of examination fees will only be accepted through the online process. “No offline forms or examination fee will be accepted,” the notification stated.
NIOS has also recommended all students to finish their registration by the deadlines, as no forms will be accepted after the latest date specified above. Students are advised to visit the official NIOS website for further information on the upcoming exams.
