Bhubaneswar: Odisha today reported 1,132 new COVID-19 cases and 66 deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to the State Information & Public Relation Department, the fresh cases have been detected from 29 districts, of which 657 have been from different quarantine centres and 475 were the local contacts.
While the single-day cases are on decline in 29 districts, the Khordha district continues to register above 400 cases. Today, Khordha reported the highest of 410 cases followed by Cuttack district with 197 cases.
Other than Khordha and Cuttack, the daily cases in remaining all districts stood below 100.
With this, the total COVID positive caseload reached 9,93,507 with 10,632 active cases in Odisha till right now.
Meanwhile, 66 more individuals died of the deadly virus in the State taking the toll to 6,823 up to now.
Among the 66 casualties, Cuttack district reported the highest of 15 followed by 12 from Nayagarh, 9 from Kendrapada, 5 from Angul, 4 from Nabarangpur, 3 each from Khurda (1 from Bhubaneswar), Sambalpur and Jajpur, 2 each from Balasore, Bargarh, Balangir, Puri and Jagatsinghpur and one each from Koraput and Mayurbhanj.
