iVoomi Energy has announced that it will begin testing its upcoming iVoomi S1 electric scooter on May 28th. These rides will be organised in stages across major Indian cities such as Pune, Nagpur, Gondia, Mumbai, Nanded, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Ahmednagar, Surat, Bhavnagar, Adipur, and Kachh. Following that, by June 5, the remaining pan-India dealerships will be included.
The company also announced that these vehicles will be sold through multiple touchpoints in Indian cities, allowing more customers to experience the battery-powered scooter.
Bookings for the new scooter have already begun in India via the official company website. Customers who are interested in pre-booking the scooter can do so for $749.
According to the company, the new S1 e-scooter has been approved by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and registered with the Regional Transport Office (RTO). IVoomi Energy also promises that the scooter will be delivered as soon as June.
Commenting on the same, Sunil Bansal, Managing Director & Co-founder, iVOOMi Energy, says, “We are delighted to start with the test ride of our newly launched S1 electric scooter and give potential customers hands-on experience with our product. We are confident that the S1 will be a game-changer in the electric scooter segment and we see this as an opportunity to demonstrate the performance of our solid-state electric motor, which offers a great driving experience and efficiency. “
The scooter’s heart is a 2kW electric motor that propels it to a top speed of more than 50 kmph. It has a 60V, 2kWh swappable Li-ion battery pack and a full charge range of 100 kilometres. It can reach full charge in 3-4 hours of charging time.
The scooter’s price has been kept at 84,999, and it comes with a unique Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) feature that gives it an advantage over some of its direct competitors. Aside from that, the Bounce Infinity electric scooter has a similar (BaaS) option.
