Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has a number of new models in the works, with two of them already confirmed. The Ioniq 5 electric vehicle will be introduced later this year by the South Korean automaker, while the new-generation Tucson will arrive in H2 2022. The Creta has been heavily updated, and the next-generation Verna is also in the works.
The 2022 Hyundai Venue is expected to debut on June 16, with a slew of changes both inside and out. The prototypes have already been spotted testing on Indian roads, and the compact SUV, like the Creta, will receive exterior revisions to align with the latest Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy.
The Venue has been on the market in India since 2019, and it has been well received by customers, becoming one of the top sellers in the sub-4m SUV segment. The 2022 Hyundai Venue will have a parametric jewel pattern front grille like the upcoming Tucson for India, slimmer headlamps, new fog lamp housings, updated front and rear bumpers, and so on.
Other highlights will include new L-shaped LED tail lamps, a redesigned bonnet and bootlid, and new alloy wheels. An all-digital instrument console, new surface trims and materials, an updated dashboard, a new multifunctional steering wheel, and possibly new connectivity and safety tech are also expected.
The N Line variant of the Venue has already been spotted testing in India, and it is expected to expand the range. To differentiate itself from the standard model, it will get different looking bumpers, contrast red highlights, twin exhaust pipes, different alloy wheel design, and so on. Like the i20 N Line, it could only be available with the 1.0-litre turbo engine. In terms of performance, the same 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines could be used, as well as the same transmission options.
