The Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS 6 launched in India with a starting price of 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kawasaki, a Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced the Ninja 400 motorcycle in India, which features a BS 6-compliant engine. The 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS 6 has a starting price of 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle was previously discontinued in April of 2020 due to emission regulations.
The Ninja 400’s engine has been upgraded, and there have been several changes to the features and specifications in the new generation. Kawasaki will sell the new Ninja 400 BS 6 motorcycle in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), and it will compete with the likes of the KTM RC 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310.
The Ninja 400 BS 6 will be powered by the same 399 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that is now Euro 5 compliant. Aside from updating the engine’s emission compliance, Kawasaki has made no other changes to the powertrain. This engine’s maximum output is 44bhp and 37Nm of peak torque. The overall power output remains unchanged when compared to the previous BS 4-spec engine, but torque has decreased by 1 Nm. The transmission remains the same 6-speed unit with a slipper clutch mechanism.
In terms of other changes, the new Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS 6 receives styling upgrades. The motorcycle will be available in Lime Green with race-inspired graphics. This is the same motorcycle that is sold in global markets as the KRT Edition. The bike is outfitted with slim twin LED headlamps inspired by the Ninja H2, which feature high-beam and low-beam functionality. The slip-and-assist clutch on the 2022 Ninja 400 is also updated.
The bike also has a split-style seat, a 14-litre fuel tank, and a dual-tone side-slung exhaust. The Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS 6 rides on 17-inch wheels and has 140 mm of ground clearance. The front forks will be 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and adjustable monoshock at the rear. For braking, it uses petal disc with 310 mm dual piston caliper at the front and 220 mm dual-channel ABS at the rear.
