Volvo Car India debuted its latest lineup of petrol mild-hybrid vehicles in India.
The new 2023 lineup includes a petrol mild-hybrid version of the XC40, the company’s popular compact luxury SUV. The luxury sedan S90, Volvo’s best-selling mid-size luxury SUV XC60, and the company’s flagship luxury SUV, XC90, were also unveiled today.
With these introductions, the company completes its transition to full-fledged petrol mild-hybrids, in line with its strategy of becoming an all-electric company by 2030.
The new petrol mild-hybrid Volvo XC40 is priced at Rs. 45,90,000 ex-showroom
Volvo launched the XC40 with an updated 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine and a festive offer of Rs 43,20,000 for a limited time. The XC40 has a touring chassis that ensures a smoother ride on bumpy roads and is powered by a 1969-cc engine paired with a 48-volt battery. The powertrain, which is paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, produces 197hp and 300Nm torque, which is 7hp more than the previous model. The blind spot information system (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert is an additional safety feature in the XC40 mild hybrid.
The new Petrol mild-hybrid XC90 is priced at Rs. 94,90,000 ex-showroom
The intuitive, next-generation Android-based infotainment system with Google services is now standard on the new XC90. The standard features of digital services such as access to Google apps, other apps and services that provide hands-free assistance with Google Assistant, and navigation via Google Maps are now available across the entire MY23 model range.
The XC40 also comes with an advanced air cleaner with a PM 2.5 sensor, wired Apple CarPlay, a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation support.
The XC90, which has a powertrain that produces 200hp and 420Nm torque, comes with a 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins premium sound system.
The new petrol mild-hybrid Volvo S90 costs Rs. 66,90,000 ex-showroom, while the new petrol mild-hybrid Volvo XC60 costs Rs.65,90,000 ex-showroom.
Customers who purchase a 2023 petrol mild-hybrid model car can also opt for a three-year Volvo Service Package for Rs 75,000 plus applicable taxes.
Volvo established a presence in India in 2007 and has worked hard to market the Swedish brand in the country since then. Volvo Cars currently sells its vehicles through 25 dealerships throughout the country.
