The recently launched Tata Tiago EV is both the newest and most affordable electric vehicle on the Indian market. The Tiago EV, which starts at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), is available in seven different trim levels, charging options, and battery pack sizes.

Tata Motors announced late last month that bookings for the EV would begin in October, and they do so today, October 10, 2022. The new Tata Tiago EV is available for booking for Rs 21,000, and Tata Motors has reserved 2000 units for existing EV customers. In addition, the introductory price applies to the first 10,000 units of the Tata Tiago EV. Customer test drives, on the other hand, will begin in December.
The Tata Tiago EV is powered by either a 19.2 kWh motor or a 24 kWh unit with fast charging capability. The 19.2 kWh battery pack produces 60 bhp and 110 Nm of torque and has a range of 250 km on a single charge. The larger 24 kWh battery pack produces 74 bhp and 114 Nm, with a range of 315 km claimed by Tata Motors.
The Tata Tiago EV’s battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes using a DC fast charger, and from 0% to 100% in 3 hours and 36 minutes using a 7.2 kW AC charger.
The Tata Tiago EV comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, OVRMs that can be adjusted and folded electrically, cruise control, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, leatherette seats, and other features for the price.
NCAP rates the new Tiago EV as a 4-star hatchback, with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, seatbelt reminder, and reverse parking sensors among other features. In the Indian market, the Tata Tiago EV has no direct competitors, and its closest rival is the Tata Tigor EV, which is in a different segment.
