On the occasion of Utkala Divas, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended KALIA assistance to Odisha farmers. This assistance was provided for farming work during the current Kharif season.
Except for Jharsuguda, farmers from all regions of the state have received this assistance. More than 43 lakh farmer families have been given assistance of Rs 877 crore through their bank accounts.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the farmers on Utkala Divas and stated that the development of the state is linked with the welfare of the farmers, “so we started the new fiscal year by providing welfare on Utkal Divas.”
Odisha is self-sufficient in the production of food grains today, and it can feed the country’s food reserves, according to the Chief Minister and gave the credit of this glory to lakhs of farmers of the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government has taken many steps to improve agriculture and advised them to use more machines and modern equipment in agriculture.
He advised farmers to focus on crop diversification as the state government is implementing several grain-based missions to increase the production of nutritious food in the state and improve farmers’ income.
KALIA Yojana, according to Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Ranendra Pratap Swain, has made farmers self-sufficient. Farmers’ morale has improved as a result of loan relief.
On this occasion, farmers Gopinath Pangi of Malkangari, Sulochana Nayak of Pipili, and Dipanjali of Bargarh spoke about KALIA and the changes it has brought to their lives.
Kiran Kumar Sahu, who received the scholarship from the Kukudakhandi block of Ganjam district, described how he was able to study medicine at Berhampur MKCG Medical College today because of this assistance.
VK Pandian, Secretary to the CM (5T), hosted the event. KALIA Yojana advisors, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, and Development Commissioner Anu Garg were present at this program.
