According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday, there was a notable increase in minimum temperatures in several Odisha locations during the past 24 hours, and there was also dense fog in numerous areas that disrupted daily activities.
With a minimum temperature of 10°C, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Phulbani recorded the highest temperatures in the state, with Koraput recording the lowest at 6.5°C. The state’s other locations with nighttime lows of around or below 10°C are Daringbadi (8.0°C), Semiliguda (8.5°C), and G Udayagiri (7.5°C). In numerous areas of Odisha, the minimum temperatures fell below 15°C.
The minimum temperatures in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar were recorded at 15.5°C and 16°C, respectively.
In the early hours of Monday, moderate to intense fog disrupted regular living in most parts of Odisha. The meteorological service said that although there would still be a winter chill, overnight temperatures would gradually rise over the next few days.
