Over the past 24 hours, Odisha has seen a modest increase in temperature, with numerous locations seeing dense to shallow fog on Tuesday. The state’s minimum temperatures, or nighttime temperatures, were only recorded below 10°C in six locations.
The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional center in Bhubaneswar reports that Kirei, near Sundargarh, had the lowest temperature in the state, at 8°C. Other sites that recorded minimum temperatures of below 10°C include Sundargarh (9.6°C), Koraput (9.2°C), Rourkela (9.8°C), and G Udayagiri (10°C).
Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperatures of 18°C and 19.1°C, respectively.
On Tuesday morning, there was a dense fog in Cuttack, Nayagarh, Bolangir, and Daringbadi. There was shallow to moderate fog at Baripada and Bhawanipatna. Throughout the next two days, there might be shallow to moderate fog throughout the state.
On January 17 and 18, the IMD has predicted light rain in a number of locations throughout the state. On January 17, there might be light showers in Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Mayurbhanj. On January 18, there might be light rain in certain locations in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak.
