CUET UG 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has received over 13 lakh applications for the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 this year. As per the data shared by NTA, a total of 13,47,618 students registered for CUET UG 2024.
From 14.99 lakh registrations for CUET UG last year, there has been a minor decrease in the number of registrations. In 2023, the exam was registered for by around 8.03 lakh male students, 6.96 lakh female students, and 16 transgender students. Nevertheless, the UET 2024 has received applications from 7.17 lakh male students, 6.30 lakh female students, and 7 transgender pupils.
11,16,018 distinct students took the test in 2023; of these, 5,13,978 were female, 6,02,028 were male, and 12 pupils fell into the third gender category. Nonetheless, the total number of registrations this year surpasses the 9.9 lakh figures from the inaugural year.
CUET UG 2024: Subject-wise registrations
Like last year, this year too English has the highest number of test takers. The number of students who have registered for English has increased from 7.19 lakh in 2023 to 10.07 lakh in 2024. This is followed by the general test in which 8.34 lakh students.

In addition to English and General test at the first two spots, the top five subjects with the highest number of registrations are chemistry, physics and mathematics, respectively.
Sindhi language (8 registrations), Konkani (9 registrations), Maithali (50 registrations), Tibetan (41 registrations), Italian (51 registrations), Dogri (77 registrations), Russian (86 registrations), and Chinese (93 registrations) are the subjects with the fewest registrations.
More than 22,000 applicants received 100 percentile grades in 2023. English had the highest top scorers, with Biology and Economics coming in second and third. Furthermore, more than 1000 students received 100 percentile ratings in 2023 in topics like accountancy, biology, business studies, economics, English, history, and political science.
