While students await the NEET UG Supreme Court decision and a final counselling date for the 2024 academic session, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issued a notification on July 16 inviting medical colleges to enter their seats at the official portal mcc.nic.in.
The committee will be accepting the seat details till July 20 from the from the participating institutions for UG counselling 2024.
“Institutes participating in UG Counselling 2024 are hereby informed that the intramcc portal for the contribution of UG seats is open now. Hence, Institutes are requested to start entering their seats on the portal at the earliest so that the process of seats contribution can be completed timely,” read the official notification.
Furthermore, MCC has informed that the user ID and password for accessing the portal by the institution remain the same as the previous year, and that the option to retrieve the password is also available in case any institution forgets the password or wishes to generate a new password.
When will NEET UG Counselling 2024 begin?
Around 23 lakh medical candidates are waiting for the NEET UG counselling dates 2024 to be announced. According to recent developments, MCC NEET counselling 2024 will most likely commence in the third week of July. The NEET UG counselling 2024 will be conducted in four phases. Reportedly, a total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats are planned to be filled.
Regarding the NEET UG counselling process, the central government has stated that students will be able to alter seats based on their preferences in the first and second rounds of NEET UG counselling. Counselling will be held in four rounds. In this case, if seats are canceled before the third round, it will have no effect on overall counselling and seat allocation. The third round of NEET UG counselling 2024 will most likely begin in September. If any seats become available after the fourth and final round, an additional round will be held to fill them.
